About 3 Dishes
3 Dishes is a modern Taiwanese fast-casual concept inspired by 三菜一湯—three dishes and one soup, a way of eating that’s balanced, vegetable-forward, and rooted in everyday home cooking.We’re currently in our pop-up phase across NYC, building toward our first permanent space. At our core, we care about thoughtful food, intentional systems, and creating something that feels both deeply familiar and entirely new.
The Role — Operating Partner (Founding Team)
This is not a typical job—it’s a chance to help build 3 Dishes from the ground up.
You’ll work side-by-side with the founder to shape how the business runs day to day: from how we prep and serve food, to how we create a seamless, welcoming experience at every pop-up, to how we scale into a permanent space. This role is for someone who thinks like an owner, thrives in the details, and wants to be deeply involved in building something meaningful.
What You’ll Own
• Run point on pop-up operations—keeping service smooth, efficient, and thoughtful
• Turn ideas into systems: prep workflows, service flow, inventory, and team structure
• Lead both front- and back-of-house during events, setting the tone for how we show up
• Ensure consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation
• Manage POS, transactions, and the day-to-day numbers behind each event
• Source ingredients and supplies, and build relationships with vendors
• Maintain a clean, organized, high-standard environment across all touchpoints
• Hire, train, and grow a small but strong team over time
• Bring back insights from customers and service to continuously refine the experience
• Help lay the operational foundation for our first brick-and-mortar
Who You Are
• You have experience in food, hospitality, or operations—and understand how a service actually runs
• You’re both big-picture and detail-oriented—you can step back to improve systems, then jump in to execute
• You’re calm under pressure and know how to keep things moving during busy service
• You take ownership naturally and don’t wait to be told what to do
• You’re highly organized and care about doing things well, not just quickly
• You’re collaborative, communicative, and aligned with building something long-term
• You’re excited by the idea of shaping a concept early, not stepping into something already built
Nice to Have
• Experience in fast-casual or early-stage restaurant concepts
• Familiarity with Square or similar POS systems
• Experience opening or scaling a food business
• An interest in—or connection to—Taiwanese or Asian food culture
• NYC Food Protection Certificate
Compensation & Structure
• Founding partner role with equity
• Compensation structure based on experience and level of involvement
• Starting part-time with pop-ups, growing into a full-time role as we expand
• Based in New York City
