Front of House (Temporary) -- 3 Dishes Pop-Ups

3 Dishes is a modern Taiwanese fast-casual concept serving balanced, vegetable-forward meals inspired by 三菜一湯 (3 Dishes, 1 Soup). We are an early stage brand running pop-ups across NYC ahead of our first permanent location, and we are looking for a friendly, reliable front-of-house team member to support upcoming events in May 2026.

The Role

This is a temporary, part-time, event-based position. You will be the face of 3 Dishes at our pop-up events, handling customer interactions, managing transactions, and helping keep service running smoothly. Depending on the event, we may be selling full lunchboxes or individual sides a la carte.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, explain the menu and format, and guide them through their order

  • Manage POS transactions (Square) for walk-up and pre-order pickups

  • Organize and manage the lunchbox and/or a la carte display during service

  • Maintain a clean, presentable front-of-house area throughout the event

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including signage, table layout, and supplies

  • Help with packing and transport of materials to and from event venues

  • Communicate customer feedback and flow to the team during service

Qualifications

  • Prior FOH, cashier, or customer service experience in a restaurant, food service, or retail environment (required)

  • Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with customers

  • Familiarity with POS systems (Square experience is a plus)

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to stay composed during busy service periods

  • Flexible schedule (pop-ups may fall on weekdays, weekends, or evenings)

  • Interest in food, Taiwanese cuisine, or the fast-casual space is a plus

Compensation and Details

  • Pay: $18-19/hour

  • Schedule: Part-time, event-based.

    • Must be available 5/8-5/9 and 5/27-5/28.

    • June-Aug events TBD

  • Location: New York City (events at various venues)
