Who we are
Hi, we’re Ben and Jules — a husband-and-wife duo living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with a shared love for food.

Jules grew up as a restaurant kid—doing homework in a booth during the dinner rush and sitting on a kitchen stool to watch her parents work. Those early memories sparked a lifelong appreciation for food in all its forms: celebratory fine dining, weekend baking projects, and everyday meals made to nourish and care for others. Cooking has become her way honoring her roots and experiences while evolving with the pace and needs of life today.
Ben was born and raised in Taiwan before moving to the U.S. as a teenager. In New York, he found himself working long, demanding hours in finance—fueling up on fast, convenient meals that got him through the day, but left him longing for the familiar flavors of home. Eventually, he began bringing home-cooked lunches to the office. That experience opened his eyes to just how underrepresented Chinese-Taiwanese food is in the fast-casual space. To help change that, he left finance to share with the world the food that brought him comfort and joy.

Our name is inspired by 三菜一湯, which translates to “three dishes and one soup”—the informal formula behind the nourishing, home-cooked meals we grew up on. Veggie-forward, seasonal ingredients cooked simply to let each one shine.
We’re on a mission to tell the stories behind the dishes and share the foods we grew up with—through newsletters, 便當 (lunchbox) drops, and, one day, a fast-casual spot for your next lunch.
